Jon Evans

Jon Evans joined the Fire Service in 1995 as a Paid-per-call firefighter and progressed through the various ranks in Operations, Training, Fire Prevention and Communication with Vancouver Fire Rescue Services before joining the Saanich Fire Department as its Fire Dispatch Manager. In 2020 Jon relocated to Alberta returning to Operations as the Assistant Deputy Chief with Red Deer Emergency Services at the onset of the COIVD-19 pandemic. In 2023 he ventured south and became the Deputy Fire Chief of Rocky View Fire Services, a growing composite department. These experiences coupled with an academic acumen consisting of Certificates in Labour Relations, Emergency Management and a Master of Business Administration has led to his ability to be a strong leader and out of the box thinker. Jon continues to collaborate with industry stakeholders to forge strategic concepts to ensure an organization can maximize its commitment to a service delivery model while maintaining its business continuity plan.
