Randy J. Schroeder – Fire Chief – Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services, Town of Mayerthorpe, President of the Alberta Fire Chiefs Association, Vice Chair – National Advisory Council.

Chief Schroeder’s career has spanned three decades as a paid on call volunteer with the Mayerthorpe Fire Department starting in 1995 was promoted early to Deputy Chief in late 1996, becoming Chief of that Department in 2003.  He was offered the opportunity and became a full time Regional Chief for Lac Ste. Anne County in 2014.  He joined the Alberta Fire Chiefs Association in 1996, becoming its President in 2019 and now has been appointed as Vice Chair on the National Advisory Council for the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs.

Lac Ste Anne County Fire Services, situated in beautiful Lac Ste Anne County, Alberta has 6 fire stations and 115 personnel, providing a full level of service, which includes the Mayerthorpe Station employing 25 paid on call staff.

Chief Schroeder is a lifelong learner, with an influencing and empowering leadership style, cultivating the very best from all those whom serve along side of him, he strongly associates with networks of subject matter experts providing current information and resources for fire and emergency service provision to all.  Chief Schroeder is a passionate advocate for all public safety initiatives that enable those who serve, the safest and best experience possible in fulfilling the mission of the fire service.

Chief Schroeder, can only do this with the support of his wife Angela of 32 years (herself a Station Fire Captain), his 3 children Chelsea, Shelby, and Riley and 4 grand children Hunter, Ophelia, Amelia and Jackson.
