The Alberta Fire Chiefs Association is seeking dynamic, experienced, and forward-thinking speakers for our 2027 Annual Conference. Our attendees represent a diverse cross-section of fire and emergency service professionals from across the province. We are looking for presentations that challenge the status quo, offer actionable insights, and drive the fire service forward. If you have expertise in leadership, operational tactics, or emerging industry trends, we want to hear from you.

To ensure our educational sessions deliver maximum value to our members, we prioritize proposals that align with current challenges and innovations in the fire service. We are actively seeking presentations in the following areas:
Leadership & Officer Development: Mentorship, succession planning, and administrative excellence.
Health, Wellness, & Resilience: Mental health strategies, cancer prevention, and physical fitness in the fire service.
Operational Tactics & Strategy: Innovations in fireground management, WUI (Wildland-Urban Interface) strategies, and technical rescue.
Technology & Innovation: Data-driven decision making, apparatus procurement, and digital administration tools.
Community Risk Reduction: Public education, fire prevention, and emergency management integration.

A Note on Speaker Compensation
The AFCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement, knowledge, and safety of Alberta’s fire service and emergency services community.
We are proud to bring together speakers who are passionate about sharing their expertise, connecting with industry professionals, and contributing to the ongoing growth and development of our community.
As a non-profit organization, we take a intentional and responsible approach to conference resources. Selected speakers receive complimentary full-access conference registration, as well as reasonable travel and accommodation expenses. Our speaker honorariums are designed within our non-profit mandate and may differ from commercial speaking rates. We therefore welcome speakers who see value in the opportunity to share their knowledge, engage with our industry, and give back to the emergency services community.
We greatly appreciate the time, expertise, and perspective our speakers bring to the AFCA Conference & Tradeshow and look forward to building meaningful partnerships with presenters who share our commitment to education, safety, and professional excellence.
Submission Guidelines
Please read the following guidelines before submitting your proposal:
No Sales Pitches: Educational sessions are not for product demonstrations or sales pitches. Vendors wishing to showcase products should visit our Exhibitor & Sponsorship page.
Session Length: Standard breakout sessions run for 45-60 minutes, including time for Q&A.
Original Content: We prefer presentations that are tailored specifically for the Alberta fire service landscape.
Co-Presenters: You may include co-presenters in your proposal. Both speakers must be listed on the application.
