Fire Chief Darrell Reid (ret) has served in leadership roles including CAO of Strathcona County, Fire Chief of both Vancouver Fire Rescue Services and Strathcona County Emergency Services, Deputy Fire Chief of Toronto Fire Services, CEO of Heart & Stroke Ontario, Board Chair of Heart & Stroke British Columbia and Yukon, and Founder of Emergency Services Academy Ltd. He has worked with international fire services and emergency management agencies in Nicaragua, Guatemala, China and Mongolia. He was an Incident Commander and EOC Chief for the Slave Lake Fire and High River Floods and Covid-19 Task Force Chief for the City of Vancouver. He also served as IAFF Local 2461 (Strathcona County) President, a STARS flight paramedic, and on various non-profit boards.

The organizations led by Darrell have been internationally and nationally recognized for success in areas including staff engagement, strategic planning, operations, community risk reduction, and innovation.
