With over 22 years experience in Emergency Services, Everett began as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Town of Sexsmith in 2001. Soon after, he joined the County of Grande Prairie where he served as Deputy Chief of Rural Operations, then as Fire Chief. It was during his time as Fire Chief for the County of Grande Prairie that he had the fortune to design and lead the expansion of the County’s Fire Service, into becoming a regional model, which included the creation of two full time stations.
In 2017 he joined the City of Beaumont as the Fire Chief/Director of Protective Services where served for four years before accepting the position of Fire Chief, for the City of St. Albert, in 2021.
Everett has obtained several industry certifications as well as a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration. He has served on the AFCA Board in the Director at Large – Rural and Zone 2 Director positions while today, he serves as a member of the AFCA Conference Committee.
