Chief Guilbault has been a firefighter with the Montreal Fire Department since 1992. He is currently in his 10th year as a chief, with the last two years as the division chief of the training center. Alongside his career at the Montreal Fire Department, he has always been involved in teaching, whether at the Quebec Fire Protection Institute, the Fire Safety Techniques program at Montmorency College, or as a lecturer at the École Polytechnique de Montréal. He is also a media spokesperson for the organization.
His involvement in the battery project has been to support the development and deployment of the program at the Montreal Fire Department and to participate in the establishment of a consultation table at the École Nationale des Pompiers du Québec on the risks associated with lithium-ion batteries.
