Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) is a massive technology improvement taking place across Canada, and it is creating buzz in first responder agencies who may not be aware of what exactly this change will mean for them. Lis and Kim are working on the implementation of NG9-1-1 in Calgary and are active in the Emergency Services Working Group, which provides recommendations about the direction of NG9-1-1 to the CRTC. We will share with you what is happening now as 9-1-1 centres transition and what is coming in the future as new features are added that will change 9-1-1 service in Canada. For those agencies who also operate a PSAP and are leading a transition themselves, Lis and Kim will provide some lessons learned.
