Call For Speakers is now OPEN!
The AFCA is releasing a call for speakers for the 80th Annual Conference and Trade Show, from Sunday, May 30th to Wednesday, June 2, 2027, at the Edmonton Convention Centre and Westin Edmonton Hotel, Edmonton, AB.
Abstract Submission Proposals are invited for keynote addresses and workshops. All submissions will be reviewed for quality, relevance, and merit. Structured abstracts of 250 words or less are required for each submission and are to be completed as part of the attached form. Abstracts must be submitted using the form link. Speaker forms are due by Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
Keynote addresses are one hour in length including Q & A’s with an in person audience of 200+ people.
Workshop presentations are one hour and 15 minutes, including Q & A’s with an audience of 80 to 100+ per workshop, unless otherwise stated in the final conference schedule.
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Presenters will be notified by November 2026, to confirm if their abstract has been accepted. Further details will be requested from those that are accepted.
If a speaker has been selected there will be a conference call to discuss the presentation.

SESSION FORMAT
Each session (keynote or workshop) will follow this format.
➤ The session will be introduced by an AFCA board member or conference committee member. The speaker will then be introduced by an AFCA sponsor if the session has been sponsored. Note: the sponsor may attend in person or have a pre-recorded introduction.
➤ The speaker will commence the presentation. Q and A’s will be moderated by an AFCA conference committee member.
➤ The sponsor or AFCA board member will close the session once the Q and A has concluded.
